This year, Jumbo Supermarkets is expanding the number of DHL parcel lockers in its stores, in collaboration with DHL. In addition to the DHL parcel lockers already available at Jumbo locations, DHL will install one hundred additional lockers at Jumbo stores across the Netherlands in the coming period. This allows customers to easily pick up their online orders or drop off parcels while doing their daily grocery shopping.
Easier and more sustainable
With this expansion, Jumbo and DHL are responding to the growing demand for flexible delivery options for online orders. Consumers no longer need to wait at home for a package—instead, they can choose the pickup time that works best for them. Supermarkets often have longer opening hours and are easy to reach. By using the DHL parcel lockers at Jumbo, customers can combine grocery shopping with picking up or dropping off parcels. This is not only more convenient and time‑saving, but also more sustainable. Delivering more packages to a single location reduces the number of kilometers driven and lowers CO₂ emissions. It becomes even more sustainable when customers walk or bike to the store.
Recognizable in the streetscape
The new parcel lockers will often be easily recognizable thanks to their yellow DHL branding. This way, customers can immediately spot where to go for picking up or dropping off their parcels.
