Building Ambitions and Athletic Development: DHL eCommerce extends sports partnership with national women’s teams

Ahead of International Women’s Day, DHL eCommerce announces it is extending its partnership with the national women’s teams for four more years and adding KNLTB Padel as the fifth federation. Under the #SameDream banner, since 2022 DHL has supported the soccer, field hockey, handball, and (beach) volleyball teams as sponsor and logistics partner. The partnership helps female athletes realize their dreams. The women’s teams are celebrating their successes with a growing fan base. DHL understands the ambition to perform at the highest level better than anyone.

#SameDream – Building ambitions and athletic development
The #SameDream program focuses on supporting the development and performance of elite female athletes and underscores the shared belief that equal opportunities in sport and at work are crucial for future generations—a powerful message in the lead-up to International Women’s Day. With European and World Championship successes, the Dutch women’s teams are inspiring a growing audience, while DHL is seeing strong growth in both consumer and business markets. The bond between elite sports and brand ambition has strengthened both parties in recent years and will now be deepened further.

Padel’s rapid rise—now added to #SameDream
The addition of KNLTB Padel to the sports partnership is a logical step. In just a few years, padel has become one of the most popular sports in the Netherlands. That makes padel a perfect fit with DHL’s ambition to support national women’s teams in fast‑growing sports and to make new role models more visible. Ambassadors bring the partnership to life and serve as inspiration for future generations.

Each team has one player serving as a DHL ambassador
From each team, one player represents the partnership with DHL. New faces are Bo Luttikhuis (padel), Dione Housheer (handball), and Nika Daalderop (volleyball). Continuing as familiar faces are Jackie Groenen (soccer), Pien Sanders (field hockey), and Katja Stam and Raïsa Schoon (beach volleyball).

Michel Clausing, CCO DHL eCommerce Benelux:
“Ahead of International Women’s Day, this is a special moment. We are incredibly proud of what the women’s teams have shown in recent years—their performances, their presence, and the way they inspire the Netherlands. It’s a privilege to support them in their athletic pursuits. At the same time, the collaboration means a great deal to DHL: it energizes our brand, increases our visibility, and connects us with millions of fans. We’ve already achieved a lot together, and this extension once again creates great opportunities to continue growing.”

Jan Dirk van der Zee (Director of Amateur Football, KNVB), on behalf of the sports federations:
“This partnership is about inspiring a new generation of women with strength, energy, and positivity. Together with DHL, our women’s teams across all federations can continue to develop at the highest level. The successes of recent years show what’s possible when we share the same dream.”
